I find tiny reminders in old manuals that games are made by people who were proud of the work they did so endearing. For example, in the Donkey Kong Country 2 booklet we're encouraged to appreciate the bilge rat enemy Neek's "cool rendered fur", and they're right...that IS cool rendered fur!

I think the project I would currently most like to attempt would be about 3-4 years and 2-3 mil. Probably doable for less, but one part of the dream is having time to iterate, and another part is hiring my gamedev friends and paying everyone well!
