Visited Lochmaben yesterday. The library has a great wee local history section. The old churchyard has many local sandstone memorials in excellent condition even after 200 years.

Our collection of #MapleLeaf brooches. Gifts and souvenirs. Memories of the #Canadian boys who were in the Army and RC Air Force , stationed in Britain during #WWII. They spent their leave at#Traquair, #Scotland as guests and became friends.

Sent a request for Service records for a WWII New Zealand serviceman just a week before Christmas. Got a copy of his service records today via email. He was only 17 when he joined up in Nov 1943. Need more info on HMS Drake and Riou so need to do more research. Excellent service from www.nzdf.mil.nz
