❗️ Instead, Russia has built its own ecosystem of fake election observation. The preliminary list of fake observers identified by EPDE is incomplete: Russia's Central Election Commission announced over 1,100 international "observers."

The elections were Russia's first parliamentary elections since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They took place w/o any independent election oversight. The Golos Movement, Russia's leading independent election monitor, was forcibly dissolved, and its co-chair Grigory Melkonyants was imprisoned.

This move, echoing similar actions against other CSOs in 🇬🇪, shows the Georgian Dream party continuing to use the unconstitutional and undemocratic laws recently adopted against civil society. ISFED will use all available legal mechanisms to defend the interests of the organization.
