What about the dumpers? They skip tracking and make it everyone else’s problem. But with more businesses doing the right thing, identifying waste crime becomes easier.

Dumped tyres are toxic. So we track their movement across the state. More than 95% of tracked tyres are documented at their source, in transport and at lawful disposal. 3 years ago it was just 13%.
complete waste records’ in the vertical axis running from 0% to 100% and the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 in the horizontal axis. A blue data line runs from near 0% in 2023 to nearly 100% in 2025. The area below the blue line is filled with a photograph of waste tyres.

Some good news to start the year. Tyre transport tracking reports are up by 75%. Meaning a safer environment for you. More operators are stepping up by doing the right thing (but there’s still work to do in 2026).
6 green arrows pointing up are part of a black tyre tread mark going up the image. Words to the right say ‘Tyre transport reporting compliance is up 75%’. The letter ‘o’ in the words are small tyres.

Smoke from #VicFires has reached parts of Gippsland. The south west regions and Melbourne are still experiencing fair to poor air quality. We recommend people with sensitivities take precautions. These conditions are expected to remain through the afternoon and into the evening.
White words are written over a grey smoke haze. They read: "Bushfire smoke. Poor air quality is impacting part of southern Victoria. Affected areas include: south west regions, Melbourne and Gippsland. People with sensitivities are urged to take precautions."

We strongly recommend using a licensed asbestos removalist. Using trained professionals is the safest option. They know how to remove and dispose of asbestos safely, without putting you, your family or neighbours at risk.

We recommend you do not inspect the fire-damaged rubble and ash. If you do stay safe: 🔷 avoid handling burnt building materials where possible 🔷 keep rubble wet to reduce dust 🔷 wear personal protective equipment

Returning home after a fire can be overwhelming. There’s a lot to take in, and safety might not be the first thing on your mind. But it’s important to be aware, If your home or nearby buildings were built before 2003, asbestos may be present. #vicfires #bushfire #ausfires

💨 use your HEPA air purifier if you have one 💨 avoid burning candles, incense, and smoking. 💨 wear a P2/N95 mask if you must go outside 💨 if it is safe consider going to a place with cleaner air and air-con (like a library or shopping centre). 💨 bring your pets and their bedding inside

Environment Protection Authority Victoria @epa.vic.gov.au · 08/01/2026
Can you see or smell smoke, and you are not in a warning zone? Smoke can travel a long way from fires and affect your health. Heres what you can do: 💨 minimise time outside 💨 skip hard exercise if you’re coughing or short of breath. 💨 close windows and doors 💨 set your air-con to recirculate.
