Folks, we need to get all of these plastic toys, and plush animals, out of our lives and our children’s lives. Plastics and synthetic fibers are made from fossil fuels, the production of which needs to end. These products do not biodegrade but only degrade into micro- and nanoplastics.

Kids are making, trading and hunting for squishies, or squeezable, malleable blob toys that come in a variety of forms.

Cute video. But I wish this obsession with big plush animals would end. They are all, or almost all, made using synthetic fibres, shedding microplastics as they are handled and age. And their production collectively helps perpetuate growth in the petrochemical industry.
