An unexpected find, a CD of the soundtrack to Bare Knuckle II/Streets of Rage 2 by Yuzo Koshiro... in a small bookstore with a bunch of Kenny G comps. I'm curious on what journey this CD from Japan must've gone to end up at an unsuspecting store in the USA for dirt cheap three decades later.

The back cover for the soundtrack to Bare Knuckle II, featuring Yuzo Koshiro wearing a leather jacket looking down.

Inside the case for the soundtrack to Bare Knuckle II, featuring to the left a photo of Yuzo Koshiro again, now sitting by a window with his left knee raised. On the right is the CD itself.

One game I'm still proud of collecting is a complete copy of DS Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars I bought almost 5 years ago, with all manuals and the map of Liberty City. Being someone who grew up with a DSi and also likes GTA, this was on my radar for a while.

A photo of the case for the Nintendo DS Game Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, showing many of the game's characters and some firearms.

On the top right is a handwritten sticker reading "40", which was the price I got the game for ($40) back in 2021.

The case from the previous case opened, showing the game card inside and the extras it came with outside, including the manuals and the map of the game's rendition of Liberty City.

I also got Pokémon Black 2 later for $40, also loose. Now that'll set you back ~$120-$150. People go crazy for Pokémon.

Note the price has stayed steady around $25 prior to 2020, where it started to rise. Now it can fetch for as high as $150.

This is just for a loose copy (Cartridge only), mind you.

I feel a bit lucky to have gotten a loose copy of Pokémon White back in 2018-2019 for only ~$30, which was a little while before Gen V started to develop a cult following. For reference, a loose copy now would be ~$75-$90. (According to Price Charting)

Johnny Turbo was also a mascot for a line of sloppy Data East arcade ports on the Switch. Seems like whoever owned the character (Seemingly not Konami or Biglobe who own the TurboGrafx brand) woke up one day and went "What random gaming shlock shall I pimp this character to?"

I just know this has Johnny Turbo (The TurboGrafx's marketing mascot in the 90's) in it... for some reason.

Also updated versions. (The priority of the sparkles on Delight's wings was wrong originally.)

Digital artwork featuring Delight sitting down while looking up in awe, with the scenery featuring Earth in a colorful space.

Delight is a white/purple/yellow Fari creature with red wings and a tail with a star on the tip, and another one on his forehead.

He is saying "Do you see the world like I do?"

On the other hand, it's a bit surprising seeing some activity from the Saints Row series again rather soon after the reboot bombed and Volition got shut down. (Tho they're still credited in this trailer) They deserved better.

That explains the cassette tape soundtrack release. As for the "unreleased" part, it seemed to have come from a mention of a planned US release by Romstar that got canned due to a bad loketest. That might've got telephoned into "The game failed location testing and never got released, period".

Front cover for the box art for "The Original Sound of Cyber Tank Arcade Version", featuring key art by Syd Mead of a tank facing off two attack helicopters. The surrounding graphic design consists of a white background with a green grid.

12th January 2010: Smitdogg - Antonio Gonzalez, Jr., an ex-Romstar employee, has started dumping his insanely rare Cyber Tank PCB set! The current dump as many of you has some bad dumps. It turns out this set he is dumping is the same revision as the one in MAME so the dump is beign correct and should turn out to eb finally get properly emulated now (or at least it's possible now). The game was never release outside of Japan as far as I know and all the boards left out there are being hoarded by collectors. At one point there was a US prototype version, but it is most likely lost forever now. He says the did a location test but it failed because of the crazy difficulty level.
