I'm not a spiritual person. I don't believe in any gods. But seeing @mogwai.scot live is the closest I get to a religious experience. It's music that reinvigorates the soul.

Every year my dentist has a Halloween pumpkin carving competition for the staff. The kids in the waiting room place their votes with glee. So do the adults. Sometimes it's the smallest things that elicit the biggest smiles.

Sad to hear about the passing of Drew Struzan this week. He created some of the most iconic movie artwork we will ever see. The world has lost an incredible talent. Here's one of my favourites.

Over the last few months, Ivor Smith and I have been working with The Lyric Musical Society to bring a touch of real magic to The Witches of Eastwick! Great to see it moving from the rehearsal room to the stage at HMT in yesterday's tech & dress rehearsals. Opening night is tonight - exciting!

Found this photo from when Russ and I started Hercules Moments. Those days of music reviewing were so much fun. We had a good wee blogging community here in Aberdeen alongside The Kiosque, Flares n Seagulls, Daily Dischord, Hot for the Encore.
