The focus is on anyone making more than $190,000. A wealth tax would be great, but (correct me if I'm wrong) from my understanding, it'd need to be federal because the rich can just move their wealth to another province. Whereas if it's federal, there would be an exit tax on their capital gains

Regarding the PST cut, are you talking about this? It's not so much a cut. He's just ruling out creating an additional levy, which I'm sure has elicited different opinions across BC dailyhive.com/vancouver/bc...

I hear you. The party made serious missteps on DRIPA, but are back on the right track. There's certainly a diversity of opinions on LNG within our party. However, we have been campaigning on the things I mentioned. David announced them at campaign stops. Example: theprogress.com/2026/10/02/e...

- New unsold condo tax and increasing the speculation and vacancy tax (COPE idea btw) - Price caps on gas and essential groceries - Banning surveillance pricing - Increasing taxes on the wealthy (see below) So far! These are all progressive traditional NDP policies!🍊 www.bcndp.ca/releases/bui...

Eby's plan will fund stronger healthcare for everyone by asking top income earners to contribute fair share – 96% pay nothing more

If you're going to resort to name calling, then I'm not going to engage with you any further. I was respectful, you were not. Side note: I could not be more opposed to Mark Carney's environmental agenda. If you look through my posts and comments, that should be clear. 👋

For the record, @thedonreba.bsky.social deleted their response to this comment, which was "This is irrelevant." I responded with "Well that's what my initial comment was about, to address the misunderstanding that David's policy proposal today would allow for gas prices to skyrocket."

Lol ok. If you scroll up, that's what my initial comment was about, to correct a misunderstanding that under David's policy proposal today, gas prices will skyrocket. That's the subject at hand.

Will a price guard prevent gas prices from skyrocketing? Yes or no?

Happy to change subjects but that's not what my comment was about. Can you first acknowledge that a price guard would prevent prices from skyrocketing?

Did you read the announcement? David is bringing in a price guard as well, which would ensure that gas prices don't skyrocket back up.

There's been a lot of buzz about the MOU and the new pipeline lately, but why are people blaming the pipeline on Eby? What could he have done as premier of BC to stop an interprovincial pipeline? He's already getting the best deal he can get for BC (aka lots of federal money) #cdnpoli #environment

Enviro Nerd @environerd.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
Exactly. Marit and the NDP are way better anyways, regardless of whoever becomes OLP leader, and have been very effective communicators especially recently from banning surveillance pricing to saving OSAP to free mental healthcare and so much more

You asked who buys softwood, and that there's more than one product at stake. I asked if that was a joke, of course it's in demand, and workers shouldn't be caught in the trade war. Then you talked about loan guarantees for some reason. I see the thread quite clearly.

Enviro Nerd @environerd.bsky.social · 05/05/2026
Sure, I can appreciate it's more than just tariffs, but tariffs are key. Ottawa's long-term mistreatment of Western Canada, and workers generally, is also key to understanding the issue

Enviro Nerd @environerd.bsky.social · 05/05/2026
Is this a joke? Softwood lumber remains a key industry in my province because it's in demand. Workers need help now, and the federal government has the capacity to act! They should not be caught in the middle of upper/rulinh class trade wars! This attitude shows contempt

Enviro Nerd @environerd.bsky.social · 05/05/2026

I'm with the premier on this. I don't get why either. Best explanations I can come up with are: 1. Carney wants to appease Alberta as national disunity is a distraction 2. Steel/auto get preferential treatment because Ottawa is biased towards Eastern Canada #cdnpoli www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

Exactly. The same could be said of the AB and SK NDPs, who constantly cede ground to the UCP and SaskParty in the war of rhetoric. These NDPs invariably almost immediately fold as soon as conservatives attack them, allowing the Overton window to shift right. Good to see Eby is now reversing course

Youre proving my point. Carney is setting Canada back on so many things, from massive public service cuts (yay longer wait times!) to an almost complete abandonment of climate policy. It genuinely boggles my mind why so many are so quick to defend him. We Trump-proof our economy by lifting workers up
