I'm not a fan of how the notwithstanding clause has been used, but this case has no legal merit. The whole point of the clause is to pass otherwise unconstitutional laws. Quite frankly, we wouldn't even have a Charter in the first place if it wasn't for the inclusion of this clause #cdnpoli #canada

Respectfully, no we shouldn't. And I'm a British Columbian (major gas producing province). Canada doesnt need new oil and gas infrastructure when these industries will peak soon. Theres simply no convincing economic/environmental case for them. It's too late to use gas as a transition fuel #cdnpoli
