Trump says this will save consumers money on cars, but with gas prices hovering at record highs, reducing vehicle efficiency not only leads to more harmful emissions, but could also cost drivers more at the pump over the long-term.

Many top officials in the EPA’s pesticide and chemical safety offices are former industry lobbyists. The pesticide office in particular has been viewed as being heavily infiltrated by industry.

Environmental Integrity Project @envirointegrity.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
The EPA considers a pesticide’s individual health risks but does not consider the combined effect of multiple chemicals. Many pesticide chemicals are registered as “inert,” allowing companies to potentially avoid health scrutiny.

BREAKING NEWS: Environmental Groups Sue Illegal Data Center Power Plant Projects in San Antonio“Communities should not have to suffer excessive amounts of air pollution from data centers and power plants that fail to follow the Clean Air Act,” said Mary Greene, Director of Enforcement at the Environmental Integrity Project. “We're suing Vantage and VoltaGrid because industrial development at this scale requires public input and stringent permits that prioritize health and air quality over the unbridled race for an economic edge.”

Sacrificing climate protections for minimal production makes no sense. EPA should maintain these regulations and require operators to fix leaking wells, which could significantly reduce methane pollution without impacting U.S. oil and gas production.
000
Environmental Integrity Project @envirointegrity.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
EPA says that the cost of complying with existing regulations would force the lowest-producing wells to shut down and that this was “unreasonable” — even though it would eliminate just 0.4% of U.S. oil and gas production, according to an industry estimate cited in the proposed rule.

NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information reported that August 2026 was the planet’s hottest August since modern record-keeping began in 1850. Record-breaking heat clearly underscores how greenhouse gas emissions from power plants are fueling global climate change.

EPA is downplaying the climate impact of greenhouse gas emissions from U.S. power plants, saying they “have no material impact on global climate change.” But if the U.S. power sector were a country, it would be the world’s fifth-largest climate polluter in the world.
