On Sept 30–Oct 1, we held our 2026 Environmental Genomics retreat, bringing together our group for two days of reflection and discussion. We revisited our strengths, identified areas for improvement, and shared ideas for the year ahead. We're looking forward to putting ideas in action!

🌱🍄 The EnvGen lab is present at the #CRC1182 2026 retreat. Our postdoc Víctor Flores-Núñez presented his work on how Zymoseptoria tritici secreted invertase can influence the antagonistic activity of leaf-associated bacteria!

Today at the Max Planck Aquavit conference in Plön, we had another chance to celebrate 🎉 our group leader, Eva Stukenbrock, on her recent appointment to the Leopoldina.
