• Do not attend a protest alone, especially if there is a risk of violence.
• Meet ahead of time to discuss multiple rally points in case of separation, as well times to report in at main staging area at regular intervals
• Have contingency plans for emergencies and potential counter-protests/police actions
• Develop a communications plan that includes non-verbal and audible signals (whistles, airhorns, flags, etc.)
• If you can bring radios do so and practice. Use code phrases [even] if operating on [encrypted] channels
• Know your operating environment: identify choke points, dead ends, and areas that create a risk of isolation
• Don’t wear tactical gear. When selecting your clothing wear something that can blend in with regular city life
• Think construction worker not soldier when choosing your clothes
• Construction workers dress for safety in messy environment with risks of chemical spills and exposure

Bottom Line: DON’T PANIC! The key to any conflict is maintaining a clear head, situational awareness, planning, and lots of practice. The strength of a protest is numbers and coordination
