It’s genuinely endearing to see that non-Resident Evil fans have been loving and engaging with Cregger’s film. Frankly, this is what a game adaptation is for—it’s an accessibility feature for the folks who don’t game or can’t afford to game, let them sit down and enjoy video game film

It’s astonishing how much of a tepid take it seems to be to say this is a very RE film. Biggest criticisms I’ve seen relate to its humour with some saying “oh that was just Leon” but characters like Barry gave us “Jill Sandwich” and “Master of Unlocking”, RE5 gave us the comm button (CHRIS! SHEVA!)
