Just got back from dinner with Viktor, and he tells me he got me dessert, too. He’s such a sweetheart. 💕 I love him. After dinner, we had a nice, long conversation at the park. Perfect weather for a perfect, romantic evening. No photos, the phones never really came out. He’s too nice to look at. ☺️

What Viktor didn't tell you is that he's also been slammed with American flags from every angle. It's definitely not a holiday he's used to. 😅 Vi's hosting tonight. Quite a few people I'm unfamiliar with, so V and I both get to be awkward.

This is it. This is what we've been working with.

Wanted to take Viktor somewhere cute for lunch.

It's only a few empty rooms with no research equipment, but since we're saving so much on a lease and deposit, we can probably rent what we critically need, at least short-term. Electricity and water work, and are included. We can get back into the swing of things, starting today.

Jayce: Not any more than I'm already aware. That's why we're trying to find someplace isolated from other people and reduce the risks.

Jayce: I'm not a thrillseeker. You know that. But magic saved my life and I know it can save more. I can't give up on it here, not when I've seen it and know it's real. What if it could even help Viktor? I have to get ready. We're about to look at some more properties and I need a head start.

Caitlyn: Wait.

Jayce: ?

Caitlyn: Tell me you at least have a plan to ... not blow yourselves and everything else up?

Jayce: That's our first priority. I can't get used to dragging Viktor around these two hour commutes, even if it might work to start. If we can dampen the energy field, we might be able to bring our research back into the city limits.

Caitlyn: What about a barrier? Can his magic be contained? Or blocked somehow?

Jayce: Again, that's what we're planning to try.

In-house review on nerve supply this morning. Teams were given primary access to a seminar next week. Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but I don't think it's entirely independent of Viktor's pitch for adaptive prosthetics funding. Still too early to say for certain.

Looking through my camera roll and i found our Christmas portrait. That was the day I announced to Mom that I was moving. I didn't care at the time; both of us look so unhappy. This isn't what I wanted. I want Mom to be proud of me. I want her to embrace who I am. And I want her to love Viktor, too.
