HB 2258 makes it illegal for any individual-including parents, guardians, educators, and healthcare professionals

—to promote, engage in, or facilitate social transitioning or gender-affirming care for minor children.
This includes any medical, psychological, or social interventions aimed at affirming a gender identity different from the child's sex assigned at birth.
Legal Consequences:

Individuals who engage in or facilitate social transitioning or gender-affirming care for minors will face civil penalties.

The liability includes:
1. Statutory damages of at least $10,000 per defendant
2. Punitive damages of at least $10,000,000 per defendant
3. Other costs, fees, and damages.
There will be a 20-year statute of limitations so individuals that have been harmed will have the ability to seek retribution once they become an adult. Additionally, healthcare professionals and educators involved in these practices risk the loss of their professional licenses.

A little while ago I was talking to David about the latest fascist fuckery, and I concluded by saying, “Anyway, I’m gonna go draw mermaids about it.” So I did. Still working on these, and it brings me so much joy and peace. My inner 10-year-old is living. She is cringe and she is free!!

Stella won’t stop licking a spot on her leg that the vet shaved to draw blood in December, and now she has a fkn hot spot there. We’re keeping her away from it and treating it with medicated spray. I just wish she understood why she had to wear the damn cone… :(
