Only in Glenrothes can we have such an international police chase!
Police chase in Glenrothes just passed my window in Macedonia near Iceland

(Macedonia being an area named after an old farm, and Iceland being a shop)

Just me attempting to get myself banned from a Facebook group 🤣
Picture of some stickers of Edinburgh/Scotland with me commenting “Sadly the art comes across as having a wee bit of an Al vibe - I know that as a photographer you'll be against the use of Al in art, and have drawn them all by hand or hired an illustrator, but the style of the coos in particular has a similarity to the sort of thing that Al comes up with, so that may be something to consider.”

A collaborative piece with my nephew, inspired by his art homework last year on David Hockney
A colourful landscape drawn on the iPad. David Hockney’s name is growing from the branches of a purple bush, and there’s a river with the words vibrant, creative, happy, colourful, bold. A fish swims in a pond, there’s a field of sunflowers, and a red path stretches through the middle of the picture towards a bridge. My nephew’s name is blurred out on the bottom right

In a similar vein to Robin’s poem, here is my Malapoetry that I wrote last week - all examples I have encountered in the wild, either spoken or written!
Malapoetry.
To who it may consern:
As I eluded to, It's bleaved that It's a working process
Altered ego,
I've not tried anything imparticular
My moto for the day:
Life is a verity pack
India is a globule supper power Cornflour blue and Marple syrup
Are chalk in cheese:
Excellent palette cleanse
They're literally doing a Belgian conga
In a Black Forest ghetto
Using it as a thorough fair And getting passed from pillow to post
They're ravished by drugs
At exhorted prices
They're paid pittens And get short thriftIt's not really comparatable But my epi ominous album Had an indeph video, and My reputation would be in shatters
Ihad a pit in my stomach And was raced to hospital
A wing on a prayer
I'm still flawed by her kindness
A giant asterix stands next to this president
He wouldn't say boo to a ghost Looking for browning points
Believe me he'll be getting a scalding
We almost get our rowans cleaned of Amathist and Ross Quarts
Heat gun, less then 30 seconds
Why torcher yourself
Being tarnished with the same brush
We button down the hatches And shun away from
The eight faces of the moon

Another deep time poem. This one is about how warming messages for nuclear waste sites may be counterproductive
Poem printed and stuck in journal, with pen illustrations of warning signs, a woman screaming, and hostile leg-shaped jagged berms

Nucleus
E Reid

This thorny landscape sings
A song of power lost
Who’s honoured in this place?

This grid with bursting spikes
Seemed valued to your ilk
What deed is symbolised?

These earthworks from your time
Which undulate and flow
What treasure lies below?

This land of brittle stones
That crunch and crack and bite
Where did you lay your bones?

These organisms: green
Like none that I have known
What wonders have they seen?

These massive basalt blocks
That cannot be ignored
Why did you leave this place?

These granite spikes lean in
Towards an unseen core
What energy is this?

This field of jagged spires
Inspires me to go on
Why does it draw me in?

This circle of black stone
This message from the dead
Is this where I should dig?

I’ve started (attempting) to write a few bits of poetry with a deep time theme, and this is partly in response to the planned AI centre in Auchtertool and the recycling centre fire in Ladybank. No shade intended on wind turbines btw, it was a contrast of ancient and modern!
Fife Life, Deep Time

Wind turbines at break of day
Megalith where golfers play
Al centre on farmland
Crinoid fossils on the sand

Mass house-building, ever more
Witch's gravestone on the shore
Pylons buzz, where no birds sing
Rock and Spindle, cup and ring

More pollution in the air
Old stone circle, Devil's Chair
Flooding, trees blown down in gales
Pilgrims' well and witches trail

Farmers chasing higher yields
Standing stones out in the fields
Massive cruise boats in the waves
Maiden's Rock and Caiplie Caves

Modern schools, post-war ones gone Mermaid's Cradle, symbol stone
Local rubbish tip on fire
Buddo Rock, St Andrews' spiresShopping centres, money spent
A hidden gorge, a pagan den
Helicopter, aeroplane
John Knox's Pulpit, Bunnet Stane

Old coal mines, a paper mill
Ancient fort up on the hill
Historic-industry disease
Fossil woodlouse-tracks and trees

Weathered marks upon a stone
Volcanic plug and setting sun
This will all be lost to time
Left as fragments no-one finds

Here are the prompts from the film club discussion of After Life, by the way
Film & Philosophy
After Life - 2 February 2026
CARD 1: THE LOCKEAN DILEMMA
"Identity is founded on consciousness and memory." John Locke In the film, choosing one memory means erasing all others. If you are stripped of 99% of your experiences, are you still the same
"self"? Does our identity lie in the raw footage of our lives, or in the final edit we choose to keep?
Film & Ph
After Life - 2
I choose to remember.
Film & Philosophy
After Life - 2 March 2026
CARD 2: THE TRUTH OF ARTIFICE
The counsellors/ film-makers use cotton wool for clouds and fans for wind to recreate memories. The French film scholar André Bazin suggested cinema "mummifies time". Why might a low-budget, artificial recreation of a memory sometimes feel more "true" than the original event? Can art be more real than reality?
Film & Philosophy
After Life - 2 March 2026
CARD 3: SENSORY VS NARRATIVE
Many deceased characters choose a simple sensory moment (the breeze on
a tram, the smell of summer) over a major life
achievement (a wedding, a promotion). Why might we define ourselves by these "small" moments? What does this say about the "meaning of life"?
Film & Philosophy
After Life - 2 March 2026
CARD 4: THE 'WATANABE' REVELATION
One character finds peace only when he realizes his life was a supporting role in someone else's "best memory." Is a life well-lived measured by what we experience, or by the impact we leave in the memories of others?
Г Fim & Philosophy
After Life - 2 March 2026
CARD 5: THE ETERNAL CHOICE
If you were standing in that municipal building today, what is the one memory you would take into eternity? Does the act of choosing (or being unable to choose) that memory change how nu feel about your life right now?
