🧪 We’re excited to share the results of a recent collaboration with @herbalifeglobal.bsky.social, now published in Science Reports! Using Emulate’s #organonchip Quad-Culture Liver-Chip S1, this study explored the #hepatotoxicity potential of four common #cannabinoids — CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBC.

Takeaway #1: The Liver-Chip S1 demonstrated differential toxicity profiles of four cannabinoids that traditional animal models could not clearly distinguish.

Takeaway #2: The Liver-Chip S1 identified parenchymal cell-specific mechanisms of cannabinoid toxicity--effects that would have been missed by standard monoculture assays.

Takeaway #3: The Liver-Chip S1 revealed early inflammatory and functional markers of cannabinoid toxicity, offering insight into potential mechanisms and early warning signs.

Takeaway #4: The Liver-Chip S1 modeled dose- and compound-specific hepatotoxicity using clinically relevant exposures of cannabinoids.
