Today was the best day. The world is coming apart but damn if a capybara on your lap chirping away doesn’t shut all that bad stuff up for a moment. These guys are supernaturally chill and invite the chill in anyone subject to their field of serotonin. Magical.

About 5k away from completing novel 4 which means I basically have three unsold novels now. One polished and two about to enter the editing process. I’m going to be pitching like buckets of water off a sinking ship at Printers Row in September. Taking a jackhammer to the ceiling. Whatever it takes.

The vampire book is done. 2 years, drawn out by tragedy and health crises. Maybe that’s the crucible in which a vampire novel is best made. If so, I hope this is my only one.

Today I hiked through a pine forest, took a zodiac from Portugal to Spain, walked up a mountain to sit in literal and figurative mist & contemplate my place in 2k year old Celtic ruins & then bought the most amazing 6$ white wine you’d ever have & Spanish ruffles and watched dubbed A Team episodes.
