My best friend's wife's dad, had a stroke last night. It's always difficult for me when people's parents are sick. I worry for them, for their family. My dad died when I was 22 and it's a wound that won't ever heal. So I'm worried. I hope that everything will be okay. It seems not too bad 🤞🏻

The process is secret, and prosecutors pretty much completely control it. They present whatever they want. They know no one will ever see. No one will ever see that they didn't present any of the exculpatory evidence, or no one will ever see that they didn't present the evidence. That was damning.

They also shouldn't let themselves be swayed by whatever the prosecutor is presenting, they should ask for more evidence. They should ask to see all the evidence. Every last bit. They're usually not shown it. They should ask, what other evidence is there? Is there exculpatory evidence?

You can get a grand jury to agree with just about whatever you want because you just show them whatever you want. You give it whatever spin you want. No one can ever see it. That's a bad process. The secrecy is bad. It's wrong. It shouldn't be secret. The secrecy lets them do bad things.

The whole grand jury system is corrupt as fuck. Prosecutors get to present whatever they want and it all stays sealed and secret. Well it ought to all be open. I say that as a formerly practicing attorney. The fact that it's sealed means it can be super corrupt. Law should be done in the open.

I kind of think it's rather telling that when I talked about doing sex work, nobody noticed those comments at all. Like they pretended they didn't exist. That's kind of how sex work is. People pretend it doesn't exist. I have a very legitimate education, I'm very legitimate now, thought I was then.

It's terrible when it's trafficking, it's terrible when it's minors, it can be terrible. The way you make it less terrible is to make it legal. Just make it legal and then you can regulate it, sending inspectors periodically, and it's less terrible. Too many people are fucking clueless.

The very last thing I am is ashamed. It was a very good living. I had another job I could claim taxes on also, but sex work paid better. It kept my child and I housed, fed, clothed. You would tell me I'm a bad person that being a whore means I'm bad. Everyone who thinks that is just so privileged.

For blind people they have readers that work with the alt text, those aren't necessarily native applications to Bluesky, They're just applications. But they do let them read the text. So there's a lot more text available in the alt text, then you would normally be able to put where I'm writing now.

If you click on your picture, it allows you to add the alt text. I don't think it's anything special you need to set up, though you can set up images so you can't post them without alt text, as far as I know, that's the only setting.

It's better but you need to add the entire text of the image into your alt text. It's a text-based image. All the text needs to be in the alt text. If it takes multiple images and multiple listing in the alt texts, that's what it takes. Do you not want blind people to understand?
