We should all have the right to take time off sick, yet thousands of people cannot afford to do so, even when recovering from serious illness and injury. The legal minimum for sick pay is £3 an hour -...

Thanks so much @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social for speaking about the importance of a flexible SSP. People should be able to do a phased return/ tailor down their hours if they choose to - the current system does not reflect modern work practices

It was great to hear Imran Hussain’s speech in parliament last night calling for an increase to SSP so it matches the National Living Wage

We welcome the changes to remove the waiting days and the Lower Earnings Limit, but we want the reforms to go further. People with mental health problems deserve a proper safety net

Great speech by Imran Hussain MP calling on the Government to protect employees from financial hardship by increasing the rate of Statutory Sick Pay and to ensure that no employees see a cut to their sick pay

Tomorrow MPs are debating the Employment Rights Bill in parliament. We need them to show support for a sick pay system that pays people the national living wage and is paid hourly, so they can take SSP payments alongside their wages if they want to do a phased return

At @mindcharity.bsky.social we’re joining @progressivechange.bsky.social to call on the Prime Minister to reform sick pay so that it provides a real safety net for workers and doesn’t force people into poverty when they are unwell

Statutory Sick Pay is inadequate - at around just £3 an hour it forces people into debt, pushes them into poverty and can make them leave their job. Mind and the Safe Sick Pay Coalition call on the government to fix this - join the fight and write to your MP actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...
