I’ve found myself in a fragile elderly parents - baby grandchildren sandwich. Time and headspace is precious as priorities change. It’s meant I’ve barely noticed coming off X. Feel so much better without.

These are the two books I’ll be bridging 2024-2025 with. On Audible #ComeAndGetIt by Kiley Reid which I absolutely adore. Brilliant narration by Nicole Lewis. And #BeMine by @bylizzybarber.bsky.social Have just begun this and am completely hooked!

Last talk of 2024 this afternoon, in Sunbury where @janicehallett.bsky.social and I will be discussing how to craft a thriller and giving a broader look at the challenges of writing compelling crime fiction. Really looking forward to rounding off a lovely year with this.

I don’t mind a bad review, it’s part and parcel of being an author who is sadly unable to please everyone all of the time. What I do object to is when the reviewer gets all public spirited 😇 and warns others not to waste their money on this pile of💩That is trolling. I see the rot in your hearts😉

Looking forward to getting together with the West London Authors this evening. We’re a word-of-mouth & friend recommendation group from a vast swathe of West London. Authors, journalists, biographers, screenwriters. If you consider yourself a WLA & would like to be invited next time send me a DM. 😁

I don’t normally cry my eyes out watching the six o’click news but the latest news out of Afghanistan is devastating. Those women and girls 😪. It’s unbearable.

Another fantastic thriller from @nikkismithauthor.bsky.social. They Had It Coming⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Those of you who know me will know I’m very fond of an exotic holiday-themed thriller, because I don’t much like holidays. And this one didn’t disappoint.🏝️ things going badly wrong in Bali! 😱

Our thoughts on the AI in publishing debate; we think there'll be uses for it, in the background, with the mundane, non-creative gubbins that any large industry engenders. But it should have no place in anything creative or nuanced; not proofreading, editing, designing or narrating.

My bookshelves are random, partly because my husband built them at different heights and my hardbacks don’t fit in the same shelves as my paperbacks, partly because I gave up trying to keep order a long time ago. My psychological suspense bookshelves however… are alphabetical. 😁📚

Off to see Gladiator 2 this evening. Read some bad reviews but a friend has said it’s brilliant. Trust the friend not the reviewer.
