#unstableuniverse crack theory: start of next episode, when wemmbu and eggchan go through the underworld portal they'll be trapped behind glass like the time jamato took them there and eggchan will have to reveal he's able to interact with stuff in the underworld (bc hes a scholar) to get them out

Mr. Bedtime @InternetHippo

I stepped away from my computer for a moment. When I returned, it was building something. I did not ask it to do this. We're not ready for what's coming

Rumour is that anthropic has discovered a totally new class of type-4 toquoi against resistant subgroup psychosis. They plan to announce it at their IPO. They really hope a competitor doesn't spend a bunch of compute to try and scoop them and release it first......

one of the exercises in the textbook i learned from was just "explain why this makes sense" and i thought "suppose you live in a city above a shoe store" was the funniest hypothesis for an exercise ive ever seen

does anyone else ever have to make your internal monologue shut up bc you already finished thinking the whole sentence instantly and taking the time to verbalize is is unnecessary

www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0vd... also another thing on new tech being discovered is weird shit like this on new versions. maybe useful for speedruns to the worldborder or something if a faster-than-elytra one gets made soon (which i expect to happen)

basically the tech is just completely different on different version splits to the point runs have a completely different shape, so the category is split by versions
030
emma𐂂 @emma.xicad.net · 09/08/2026
though theres some weird new library tech on older versions where the villagers still trade eyes of ender instead of pearls and ppl buy one and go to the stronghold then sell books to villagers for more eyes so idk at this point on the old old versions runs
130
emma𐂂 @emma.xicad.net · 09/08/2026
i mean the change that makes it slower is just a straight-up nerf to a loot table, not anything else, and tech is still being developed in general but just obtaining ender pearls only has a few viable methods (piglins, endermen, trading) and each have their own major versions (1.16, 1.7(?), 1.15(?))
130
emma𐂂 @emma.xicad.net · 09/08/2026
it's just because newer ones (for any% rsg) provide no new interesting tech for speedruns and outright make it slower

i'd have enough to live in a city above a shoe store, and want to pick the perfect pair, and every day two strategies occur to me, i can either go down to the shoe store every day and pick a pair of shoes, or rent a car and visit every shoe store in the city until i find the perfect pair of shoes.

so making mob spawns similar in format to biome placement but decoupled, based on a multidimensional grid where each axis is an arbitrary noise (or better yet, arbitrary density function?)

this only works well when the progression is stretched out but several new steps added in between so the old progression steps are further apart but plenty of stuff to do. a lot of the time they just see the "old progression steps are further apart" idea though and dont add any new stuff in between
