If you're not at least familiar with X-Men lore beyond the Fox films, I think you'll struggle to understand some of the story points and gaps that exist. It's not based on any particular run of the comics, but I saw things that made sense to me that might not to others.

Like, Liam McIntyre did a fantastic job being Logan for this game. Very much makes you feel for the BS he's going through. There are bits that let the game down here and there, but not McIntyre's acting. (Why I thought numbering my replies was a good idea...)

I will say that if you play it with Logan wearing a cowl for most of the time, you'll miss out on some excellent facial animations. He was made so expressive in this game, way more than how we was acted in the films. Feels like you'll miss half the game if you cover up Wolverine's face. 2/2

Just finished playing Insomniac's Wolverine videogame that came out last month. It's a pretty reasonable game, and it's scratched an itch while I've been playing it these past few weeks. 1/2 #videogames #wolverine

If you don't go to a cinema with a Infinity Vision screen, you only get 3/4 extra scenes in Avengers: Endgame Encore. That is some BS. Nowhere near me has that. Went last night, watched what I thought was Encore, head home, watch an analysis video oh, there's 4 scenes. #AvengersEndgameEncore

my working life has offered me a beverage. Whether it was water, coffee or tea. So quite frankly, if interviewers are absconding from a form of guest rights at this point, maybe people should be bringing iced coffee to their interviews if that's that interviewee's preference.

This iced coffee interview debate thing is weird to watch from the sidelines as someone who had a crazy long week at the start of the summer doing in-person interviews. Only 2/6 interviews offered me water. During one of the hottest weeks of the year. Every interview I've had in-person in earlier

Mother in law just showed me her phone & said ‘this is what we used to live like’ & it was an AI image of an over nostalgic street scene with an old lady handing out cakes to kids - typical nonsense. I said ‘but that’s AI, that’s not real’. She said, and I quote: ‘but that doesn’t matter’.

Last night, I started playing the new Wolverine game. This is despite all the unhappy grumbling I've read online about it. I played about two hours. I enjoyed those two hours. I'm probably going to play it some more during the evenings this week. But I am in general an X-Men a d Logan fan.

Remember folks, take notes here: ✅ When your company hacking another one helps with marketing, its "OMG rogue models gone wild hacking other companies." 😱 ❌ When a hacking incident doesn't raise your valuation but shows you to be massive thieves, it's an internal "ah nice"

OpenAI's President Greg Brockman, when told his company had hacked the NYT paywall to scrape the site, responded with "ah nice."

That's a straightforward criminal violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. OpenAI executives in jail.

The transgressive and deceptive nature of Defendants' efforts to acquire Plaintiffs' content confirms that their purpose in doing so was fundamentally to avoid the cost of acquiring lawful

GDT's reddit AMA spitting fire www.reddit.com/r/movies/com...
reddit comment:

Hello! Did you intend the ending of Pan’s labyrinth to be real or in Ofelia’s mind?

Guillermo Del Toro's reply:

My interpretation, and it's exclusively mine, is that it's real.

Because there's two things. One is what people call “The Shining Question.” The Shining Question is, Who opens the door for Jack to get out of the fridge? And Ofelia is in an attic with a guard outside her door, and she draws the door with the magic chalk, and she shows up in the labyrinth. So, the only way she could have gone into the labyrinth is the magic chalk. And the flower is real at the end. The flower that blooms in the dead tree. And the reason I think it’s real is because—and this is why I'm in favor of the human factor in art—I think that art does transform the world. You know?

Think about it for a second. One of the goals, with all this movement, is to make you believe that art is vulgar. That art is nothing special, and anybody can do art. That is like me telling you that I'm faster at running than Usain Bolt but I “run” in my motorcycle. Well, that's not the same. That’s not the same at all.

Art is important, and they want you to believe it isn't. It's part of the idea of control. The goal is not to have artificial intelligence. The goal is to foster natural stupidity. The goal is to foster you not looking for answers, and to trust yourself entirely to an engine. Look at the way we are dipping our toes into these things. We are starting to ask the machine, Is this true? For now, there's a correlation between reality and what the answers of the machine are. For now. But soon, we won't even investigate further. We will be told it's true. And if the machine is in the hands of somebody who should not be trusted, then your reality has been completely and utterly fucked. Because your intelligence ends at the question. You don't seek the answer. It's given to you.Q: You recently mentioned that AI creates 'semi-compelling screensavers' and that you'd 'rather die' than use it. As a filmmaker who relies heavily on practical effects and creature design, what do you think is the biggest thing lost when a computer generates an image instead of a human hand?

GDT:

The three quarters of the process that gave you the chance to think of the idea that people don't think about without that process. Meaning, AI can get you to the middle really fast, but there's a dialectic with the process that gets you to that top 10%. I'll give you an example with the Pale Man.

We sculpted it as an old man, with a face. And then I said, Let's take out the face. This happened because I saw a photo of a manta ray and the poster for Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm. That combination, which happened at two different times during a week or a month, are not permutations that are chemically part of an equation. They are alchemy. And then I said, Take out the face, and then I said, Let's put the eyes on the hands. This triangulation happens because I spent a month or two months living with the idea of this creature. And it's not linear.

AI is like a super-fast engine that makes semi-sentient permutations of things that are already done. Creation is things that have never been done. Coming to exist.

And the second thing is the loss of the apprenticeship that one has as an artist. You're never a master; you're always an apprentice. This is a kinship I have with, for example, Chris Nolan. When he showed me The Odyssey, there’s a scene when Matt Damon is floating in the stormy ocean and I asked him—because we were talking about practical effects, and how great it is and that we both always use a maquette or a model—and I asked him, How did you do it? He said, “We put him in a storm in the ocean.”

And you're gonna find that 30% of a great image occurs accidentally. You know, either a drop of water hits the lens, or the camera shakes. I remember when in 1993, '94, Jim…

Daredevil and Avengers Armageddon are leading up to a big thing in November. Jeff is because of kiddo's love for all things Jeff, though that series is a bit too mature for her. (She gets me to play Jeff a lot in Marvel Rivals.) All bought from my local comic book shop, Archer's Comics in Truro.

Trying to expand the range of characters I can play today, I tried playing Rogue for the first time. As a 5 star difficulty rated character, I have been intimidated by the idea of trying her. But I ended up not sucking. I think this is good going for a first time playing her, as a casual player.

I am enjoying the game, but the main frustration remains when I've chosen a character first & others trickle in and no one else is thinking about team balance. Like yes, I'm playing Quick Match most of the time, but we're fudged if six duellists or five duellists and a vanguard wander into a match.
