Kirby Dach in, Xhekaj out? Really? What is the rational behind this. Oh yeah, let's sit a guy that will finish every check and create havoc for a guy we know will loaf, peel off instead of checking and basically be invisible. Nice player selection Marty. Leafs win this one.

001

eminence grise @eminence-grise.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

How do you keep Florian Xhekaj off this team???? Apparently Dach is not worried about it, he has his contract and will just ride out the year. The worse thing about Dach is not his proneness to injury, it's his lack of character when he's healthy. This guy should never have gotten another contract.

#gohabsgo Hearing a lot out there about how good Carey Price was....(e.g. tsn690). Well, I'm going to throw this out there.....Tuuka Rask was a better goaltender than Carey Price. BOOM.

#GoHabsGo Starting to wonder if all this "players now want to play in MTL" stuff, is just media fabrication. If AJ Greer doesn't want to come here, I doubt all the other "makes sense" players do either.

#GoHabsGo It will be interesting to see what team Arber Xhekaj plays for next year. I don't think it's a lock that it will be Montreal. I mean, if you where Xhekaj's agent would you advise him to sign in Montreal? I don't think I would, not after the way the organization has treated him.

010

eminence grise @eminence-grise.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

#GoHabsGo So...apparently the strategy for tonight's game was to make it look like Xhekaj MIGHT play. And that was it. Great coaching Mawty, you really fucked them up with that decoy.

#GoHabsGo Wow, absolutely abysmal start for a team facing elimination. Slow to the puck, bad decisions right off the top.

eminence grise @eminence-grise.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

#GoHabsGo So much GOOD to take from this game. Right. Just waiting for MSL to wax poetic after that joke of a game.

eminence grise @eminence-grise.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

#GoHabsGo Jesus Christ, Florian Xhekaj and Owen Beck would have been an upgrade in this game. Ridiculous.

#GoHabsGo Carolina ranked 18th in the league in hits, but you wouldn't know it in this series. Svechnikov running people like Dave Shultz. Habs have no answer. MSL doesn't like that type of play. Ask Knuckles Nilan, "Mawty, never had to play like that".

#GoHabsGo Habs basically playing not to be embarrassed at this point. A few off season tweaks and a revamped coaching strategy defensively may be all that is needed to get some respect in the playoffs. Maybe.

000

eminence grise @eminence-grise.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

#GoHabsGo When asked what his biggest strategy was in a playoff game, Ken Hitchcock said "Whoever gets the freshest players on the ice, will usually win the game". Habs opted to leave fresh legs in the pressbox. Now, live with it.

The Montreal Canadiens didn't show up to play in game one. Forecheck stunk. No jump. They better wake the fuck up in game 2 or this thing will be over quick. #GoHabsGo

#GoHabsGo Why don't I like the fact that Hage opted to go back to college? Because of Porter Martone. Look what he is doing. The right attitude. The will to play at the highest level. Hage doesn't have that, and I don't like it.

I thought Arber Xhekaj played a solid game for the Habs last night, and hopefully has convinced MSL of his worth to this team. Time for the coaching staff to work with this player and get him the reps he needs. He is paramount to any kind of run the Habs can do in the playoffs. #GoHabsGo

@mitchmelnick.bsky.social @tsn690.bsky.social Wouldn't it be interesting if Xhekaj blossomed in the stretch run and playoffs? I certainly think it is possible if he is given the opportunity. Confidence at this level is of the upmost of importance, but you don't get it by sitting or playing 6 min.

@tsn690 The endless love-in with the Habs and the front office are like all things in Montreal, premature and over the top. Basically in 4 or 5 years they have gone from a really bad team to a decent team. That's it. Give me a call when they are serious Cup contenders, because they aren't close.

@tsn690 Pffft to this, the physicality will come back in droves, trust me. That's as big of a part of the game as the speed and skill is. The day the physical side disappears from this game, will be the end of this game. I have no interest in watching an all-star game every night.
