Contractz giving me a heart attack mentioning his potential retirement... T_T

Also massive shout-out to the LCS fan in the crowd wearing the "ride the D" t-shirt (made to promote the D Line extension on the LA metro). We love a public transit enjoyer. ^ ^

I was imagining this is what they were talking about after the game and Inspired just confirmed this to Jatt lmao

Lyon Gaming members Saint and Inspired are talking over a play after winning their series against Shopify Rebellion in the lower bracket of the LCS 2026 playoffs.

At least this happened before finals weekend...

Out for today and tomorrow because I'm sick and I need to find a way to stop feeling like a waste of space while my mind is screaming at me that I'm supposed to be at work. T_T

(Fwiw I'm still going to watch SayoLara)

210

I was looking at the reactions to the SayoLara ending and just thinking, "I could watch this...but also...I haven't rewatched Flip Flappers..."

The true pillar of the international figure skating fandom is that one person on qq who helps everyone bypass geoblocking. ^ ^

I should rewatch Flip Flappers.

I'm going either new GotS or Jaagudar.

I've also only stuck to Leda's path thus far.

Emily Rand @emilyrand.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I'm hoping it's because this route is theoretically only a quarter of a part one of a much more massive whole.

Emily Rand @emilyrand.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Yeah,I love my group (there's a lot of potential between Leda and her childhood rival, Olympia, and her retainer, Buccar, the former for romantic or platonic and the latter familial/stand-in dad) but thus far I haven't felt a lot of depth from any support conversations, unfortunately. T_T

And I can't help but wonder how much of this is an unfortunate side effect of what was formerly known as anime or otaku culture being diluted because it's no longer a subculture but significantly more mainstream. I don't think it's THE primary reason but I think it's part of the change.

I can't speak to this personally, but a lot of my congoing fanart/fanfic friends have pointed to an even earlier time by a few years where "anime conventions" ended up becoming a catch-all for "everything nerd conventions" (Marvel, ponies, etc.)

Emily Rand @emilyrand.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Leda! I love her design and also I'm a sucker for a woman seeking revenge.

I'm torn between Theodora and Leda but leaning towards Leda because I love a good revenge story.

Knowing what Roko's basilisk is unlocked so much for me in terms of understanding what the heck is happening but I also desperately wish I could go back to a time where I had no clue what Roko's basilisk is. ^ ^;;; bsky.app/profile/fain...

At least we'll always have that Momoe episode (ignore what happens after/later in the series) ^ ^;;;;;;

It was exactly ten years ago today, on my 33rd birthday, that I posted this comic online.

Why on Earth would I want to outsource that to something that's not my own brain?

1231

In addition to myriad other aversions to AI-everything (I'm an artist, after all, and even worse, a Romantic) I keep coming back to this: the fact that these processes (even/especially ones you invent for yourself) are so helpful in encouraging my brain to stretch itself and think more creatively.

1263

Back when I used to post jungle pathing spreadsheets more frequently on socials, I would inevitably have (well-meaning!) people ask why I didn't just automate it. Some would offer to automate them for me. I always said no because the process is what helps my brain learn/remember specifics.
