After deep reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to end my campaign for Mayor of MPLS. I got into this race because I love this city. But I’ve come to a hard truth: under the current political climate, I can’t be my authentic self and be a candidate in this race. (1/5)

Here are my thoughts on a strong mayor system: it requires a strong leader, and we don’t have one right now. You deserve to get the most out of your city government. That means electing a Mayor willing to roll up her sleeves and work with *everyone* to solve our toughest challenges together.

Thousands of people made their voices heard at the #handsoff rally today. Now more than ever, Minneapolis needs leadership that rejects division in our local politics and move us in the same direction to protect our values, our rights, and our city. That’s exactly what I’ll do as your next Mayor.

Minneapolis deserves a Mayor who will center residents, and that means making sure our students have a seat at the table. Kavya is an exceptional student leader who has worked tirelessly to promote civic engagement on campus and beyond. I’m honored to have earned her trust with this endorsement.
Kavya Nair endorses Emily Koski for Mayor, quoted: I am so proud to endorse Emily Koski for Mayor of Minneapolis!

I believe she will bring collaboration and, most importantly, kindness back to City Hall. Her commitment to uplifting young voices is exactly the kind of leadership that will move Minneapolis forward.

I encourage everyone to vote for her in November—together we can bring compassion and progress to Minneapolis.

I served as Budget Chair in my first 2 years on City Council. In that time, I transformed how our budget process worked by instituting work plans and setting priorities so that our legislative body worked strategically and efficiently. The end result? A process that was exceedingly collaborative.
Emily Koski served as Budget Chair in 2023 and quoted saying “I am proud to have led the Budget Committee through what has been a historic budget process characterized by communication, collaboration, and consensus.”

Minneapolis parents: do you think our city has gotten more family friendly in the last 8 years? I don’t. My friends with littles say on weekends & non-school days they go to the suburbs where they have options like indoor playgrounds. It’s time we change that & make downtown a place for everyone.
