PhD tip. Get yourself a study cat (or a research supervisor who has study dogs). Some PhD days involve watching cats have more focus than you (because birds) while you attempt to code interview data. It's very inspiring.

Not the first, won't be the last. I strongly believe the days of "transformative agreements" are numbered. But those seeing this as the end of open access are doom-mongers, plenty of other routes, and as they have a rights retention policy may I suggest green OA?
