At these endless hot-days memories always go back to summer-excavations abroad. For me that was Early Chalcolithic Ilipinar, NW-Turkey (Orghangazi, near Iznik-Lake), 2002: #archaeology #heat

What a day. What a heat. What a result. 💪 Last Friday, over 500 runners lined up at the start of the #Klimaatmarathon (#Running 4 #Climate). 💚 Together, they raised €37,500 for Trees for All. A record amount, with a record number of participants, on a record-hot day.

Current political realities (not naming names....) may really make 3 degrees warming the best-case scenario at the moment. So maybe we should move our collections higher still.... To Berlin? Or even to Mars?

With 2 degrees warming virtually inevitable. It seems we may have to more the Antiquities Museum to higher ground. Perhaps to the province of Drenthe?

Analysing the Corded Ware Bell Beaker transition in the Western Netherlands in settlement context, it appears now there are many parallels to the Grooved Ware - BB transition in the UK: high mobility, little continuity in settlement and significant genetic change. Publication in the make.
