It sucks that so many publishers/lit mags see the em-dash as an AI red flag. I love the dash-- it's my favorite piece of punctuation-- and I don't want to remake my entire writing style all because some slop machine co-opted it.

Thank you! I was inspired by silkmoths and fabric dyeing, a male protagonist who rejects toxic masculinity, and the idea that the art one makes is both self-expression and armor. Art is joy. And having a creative outlet can make all the difference in someone's life.
