Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 on Thursday. 🛹 This is a very good game but I didn't enjoy it as much as THPS3, there was less replay value and some of the goals were needlessly tedious / difficult. I still had lots of fun, though! :3

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Star Wars: The Clone Wars last week. 👽 This was 'just fine', the missions were entertaining enough but there wasn't anything too exciting or complicated going on. The framerate was pretty bad and sometimes made me feel dizzy. 🥴

Oh also... my disc drive was chugging BALLS while trying to play this game. The disc wasn't even that scratched, the game must have just been constantly loading things. It was so loud I could barely hear the characters talking during cutscenes. 😂

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last week. 🧙‍♀️ Literally any other version of this better, there's extremely little gameplay (aside from rudimentary puzzles and padding) and you spend a huge amount of time in cutscenes. 😴

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, 'finished' Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee earlier this month. 🦖 Fuck. This. Piece. Of. Shit. Game. The only redeeming features of this were the genre and maybe the graphics, I don't think I've despised a game as much as this one. 😩

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Top Gun Combat Zones last month. ✈️ This was below average but tolerable, mostly held back by the repetitiveness of the missions. The flight and shooting mechanics were reasonably satisfying. 👀

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, 'finished' Big Air Freestyle last month. 🏍️ The tracks were admittedly good and the controls were generally intuitive. The main issue, barring what I'll say later, is that this is so short and doesn't present much reason to replay it.

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished TimeSplitters 2 last month. 🕐 This was a fantastic game with loads to do (even in single player)... but it does NOT belong on the GameCube. The required level of precision is insane given you can only aim using a joystick. 😅

The other month I finally figured out how to capture 50 / 59.94 FPS (interlaced) footage of PAL GameCube games using Elgato. The difference is remarkable, it's essentially doubled the FPS of my recordings. I can't tell you how happy I was to get this working. 😭 Here is before:

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished NHL Hitz 2003 last month. 🏒 This is a great game and an improvement from 2002, the Franchise Mode was far more engaging and Season Mode gave players actual simulation options. Midway also stayed true to their general goofiness. 🥺

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Eternal Darkness last month. 🧙 Lots of people praise this game, I walked into it not knowing if it's genuinely good or just a cult classic. My sense is that it's somewhere between the two, overall a pretty enjoyable experience. :3

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, 'finished' NHL 2003 last month. 🏒 As a hockey game this was just... okay, not enough to stand out as remarkable. The controls were quite stiff and there weren't as many bells and whistles, NHL Hitz 2002 was much better.

Update on my GameCube 100% challenge, finished Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 last month. 🚓 The pursuit mechanics were fun at first but very quickly became frustrating. The racing was relatively competent but generally quite trivial, plus there were (basically) only four tracks.
