Thank you so much !! I’ve had them for awhile, but only got around semi-recently to a design I was happy with. Most of my characters are written 1st, designed 2nd. Getting this idea out of my head just took a loooot longer :,D

OC-Tober Day Three: Old OC 🎃 Greed, I’ve had them for as long as my main two characters, their design’s changed quite a bit over the years 💛

A digital artwork showcasing an older original character made from shredded purple and black iridescent cloth, they sit in a relaxed position. In the top-right corner is a brief description about the character.

It reads as: “A floating head full of strange living gold puppets their shredded remains. Once a Judge built from enchanted cloth, they’ve reinvented themself into the thief they were falsely accused of being.
Now they’re ‘Greed, and free from
that system of eternal judgement.”

As I do this OC-Tober art challenge, I’ll maybe sprinkle in some extra horror art/sketches. I’m getting in the mood to draw some…

Yeah… it’s extra weird because Deadlock is honestly more of a DOTA/LoL than a TF2 type game! Also sad because it muddies the waters of people making good-faith, genuine critiques or expressing concerns about Deadlock. Like characters already being left behind as new things keep getting added, etc.

Little Update on This: My 1st table read went great! I don't really write comedy, so getting organic reactions and laughs around the table for this new genre I'm trying was really nice. Especially because a couple people are from Second City Comedy... More great feedback and critiques too! :D

(WIP) Scrapped Sketch? Maybe? Not sure yet. Still trying to find the right approach to turning this loadout into an OC… I like the idea of his eyes being the unusual, but I also like the idea of him being maybe not-so-human. We’ll see!

🌿 Playful Roughhousing 💫

A digital artwork of two characters playfully roughhousing in the middle of a strange forest. The smaller character is a blue skinned woman with orange hair, she kneels on the larger character’s chest. His hands are up in a defensive surrender, his tongue is playfully sticking out as he speaks.

Two small text boxes of the large man’s dialogue read: “Cool off! Y’got me… That was a fun scrap !”

I hope so too! Also Edynvale is a series, not a 1~2 hour story. tbh, I don’t think it could ever be adapted for live action let alone live real time theatre.

Ember 🎃 Extra Scary Edition 🦂 @embernova.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I joined a local theatre playwriting cohort and everyone's cool and has cool ideas ! Little nervous to tackle a new medium but I’m really excited for this play I’m writing. The feedback and advice I got from the workshop has been super useful 🎉

Ember 🎃 Extra Scary Edition 🦂 @embernova.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Yeah! I love that it has the super technical stuff, different channels, and major player influence/interactive stuff, but its character writing is very strong but also very 'quiet'. (Which is a good thing, it's a cool approach I really like it) I think that's why sometimes its missed.

010

Ember 🎃 Extra Scary Edition 🦂 @embernova.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

you can really tell how much I enjoy a story by how much I talk about it’s themes…. especially if I can’t help but talk about it under any fanart I draw lol

110

Ember 🎃 Extra Scary Edition 🦂 @embernova.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

If I had a nickel for every time a TF2-Related story tackled themes of technology getting out of hand, complicated feelings on the past, memory, obsession, celebration, regret, and corruption… I’d have at least 4 nickels, which isn’t a lot and tbh there’s probably more out there. ok yapping done :>

010

Ember 🎃 Extra Scary Edition 🦂 @embernova.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I do love a good story about people stumbling upon a sketchy AI corp going too far and the lingering (+probably also paranormal) effects of their dangerous technology, corrupting otherwise human made works of art from who they partnered with… (Fictional-Valve). The character work is even better imo

Kind of- it's a good way to teach her to fight better. She's gotten much better at this point in their little story so now he's getting a little burned :>

No graduation photos or goodbyes does sour it a lot, a very bummer ending to an otherwise good college experience. I don’t know how I feel about ‘staging’ graduation photos either. Anyways, enough blabbing from me- my other mixed feelings I’ll keep to myself.

I was too sick to walk at commencement and recieve it in-person but thats ok. Wasting money on grad robes and getting sent a random highschool’s robes was not ok. Kinda glad I was sick b/c that would’ve been humiliating. Sadly, it’s now the most expensive outfit I own, I don’t have any formalwear.
