Silicon Labs Expands AI Tools for Embedded IoT Development
Silicon Labs has expanded its developer platform with new tools for AI-assisted embedded development, hardware and software validation, open-source collaboration, and edge AI lifecycle management. Announced at the company’s Works With Summit, the initiatives extend the Simplicity platform from conventional IoT development toward workflows in which AI tools can interact with device-specific software, hardware configurations, and enterprise machine-learning infrastructure. The Simplicity AI SDK has entered public Beta, providing AI coding assistants with structured access to Silicon Labs SDKs, development tools, documentation, and connected hardware. The initial supported environment focuses on Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), with workflows covering project creation and configuration, compilation, firmware flashing, debugging, network and power analysis, documentation searches, and hardware interaction.
