Ethos is Evil

• Ethos bears heavy resemblance to the crystal Exodus (Exdeath) is imprisoned in, as sealed by his Ivalice counterpart Halmarut. Pointed out by bernkastl.

• The presentation of Ethos is reminiscent of Ashe and the Dawn Shard from FFXII. Ashe has noble reasons, but the Dawn Shard is part of a plot to groom her into a fate as a puppet-king. This is done by higher mysterious forces which even make a specter of her dead husband so they can manipulate her.

• Compare "No lands must remain beyond our grasp. Go forth. Conquer. Rule." to "Go forth. Discover. Unite the stars unto one. Let none bar your path." Pointed out by Tritoch (tumblr)

• WOL coming back to the Scions after activating Ethos on the Moon in 7.55 is a direct nod to In From The Cold, when WOL's body was possessed and they were not themselves.

• Echo vision in 7.56 bears a similar presentation to the vision of Ragnarok in FFXIII's opening. Pointed out by Specterxiv.
