$2 bills are what I use. I periodically buy them back so (1) kid can spend her cash without making cashiers deal with a $2 bill and (2) there's always one on hand for future tooth fairy needs.

Right, audiobooks of content that's too difficult for a kid to read at that particular moment are great, or even an audio book where they can follow along with a picture book, but a young reader version that's reusing audio from a movie/TV show is just silly.

We split a full butchered cow with 2 other friends and it was all very high quality, but 1/3 cow took our family of 3 a year to get through and took up most of the space in our chest freezer so we haven't done it again.

The mom of one of my kid's friends is mad that the kids' teacher is not doing any sort of celebration to mark the end of 1st grade and I'm trying to tell her that's not a thing. The expectations some people place on teachers (who already go above and beyond) is ridiculous.
