I spent between 4 and 5 hours programming hi-hats for an atmospheric black metal song last Friday. I have to find a better way. Maybe I should just use a real drum kit, or record parts with live MIDI input, instead of drawing in notes individually. That was excruciating. Won’t be doing that again.

Watching ‘Evil Dead: Burn.’ Hope it’s better than that pointless trash ‘Primate.’ I think my taste in horror films is changing. I can’t get into the senseless violence or “gore p*rn” unless there’s some kind of emotional payout. It’s happening with action movies, too. I’m so dead inside.

This song by Lana Del Rabies is just about halfway to HNW, which is plenty to make it interesting and listenable. The harsh mids and highs are scooped out, only saved for the vocal bits, so it is not an unpleasant experience.
