I really hate the “I don’t owe anyone anything” mentality because we actually owe each other and this planet a lot. You don’t have to be selfless all the time or burn yourself out but you should be kind and helpful and compassionate to the best of your ability. We need to care about each other more

In high school we had to write a dissertation. I chose Van Gogh and wrote exactly this. Depression is not a muse. Never feel like less of an artist because it does not spur you to ceaselessly create masterpieces. These are myths we've woven to romanticize the greats. Depression is not a muse.

Recently at a farmer’s market I bought a Twin Peaks candle from a candlemaker. It smells like ‘damn good coffee, pie crust cream and maple syrup’ and today I finally lit it. The smell makes you crave cappuccinos and miss creative legends. 10/10 recommend.
