The brain, in a self-preservation effort, lies. Makes it seem like the pain is so bad we shouldn't do anything. No. Nonononono. Between my grandmother and Portal I will always keep working through the pain. The cake is a lie. 2/2 #Determined #LifeLessons

Something I've been reminded of by my 90 year old grandmother is to not let pain be the reason you stop. In her case she meant physically (which my mom and aunts are on her case about after a recent fall, she's ok! Just stubborn lmao). But for me it reminded me that mental pain counts too. 1/2

Hello Author-friends, I have a question for you. Where do you post your work? I know of sites for things like fanfiction (AO3, FF Net) and some posting like Wattpad, not much else. I'd rather hear from actual users where they post! Self-publishing counts too towards answers! #WriteSky #AuthorSky

That's NOT ME. I'm...I'm a doofus. I want to bring more of that here and be me. How do you all be you online? Not sure which tags to use, so I'mma just leave them out.

Ellowyn @ellowyncassia.bsky.social · 22/06/2026

I keep saying it and it finally feels true. I'm getting plans in place that will let me write more, be creative, and get everything on the right track. I want to show more of who I am as a person. Which I really struggle with doing online. I feel like I always come across as too 'corporatey'.

I'm currently working on my 2 for today. I feel you on all the difficulties of applying to jobs. Sometimes it's really discouraging but sometimes I find ones that at least brighten my day. (It's really weird how they do lol)

Things are in the getting worse before better phase. I keep being optimistic then getting kinda shoved back down. But I'm not letting it stop me at all! I'll get things under control.

I STILL struggle with this. It's slowly getting better but I felt this down in my bones. Part of my struggle comes from a LONG time where I didn't write at all. Getting slowly back into it now has been game changing and is helping build my confidence back up. #writingq #WritingCommunity

Knowledge, with having none, I'd love to talk to other authors that have indie published to learn from them! Find out what they've tried, recommend, and where/what to stay away from! I'd love to form connections with them! #WeeknightWriters

While the marketing efforts are definitely up there to excite me, they also worry me deeply. Not hitting the right audience or even getting it in front of people is hard to think about. Realistically, I won't know until I try but it always give me a brief pause. #WeeknightWriters #IndieAuthor

IF I go this route, I'm excited by the control it gives me. Not just with writing the novel but the production and marketing efforts too! #WeeknightWriters (look I remembered! 😛)

This is exactly how I feel about it!

Ellowyn @ellowyncassia.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

I'm still figuring this out. While I like the control of self publishing, I'm unsure if it would be a great idea for me personally. Though, the alternative of a traditional path leaves me just as unsure as it's...daunting to try and break in to the industry.

Ellowyn @ellowyncassia.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

Better than I have been. My personal life isn't great but it's slowly getting better. I'm optimistic that I finally found the right path. Which will lead me to work on my WIP more!

Hello #WeeknightWriters! Just learned about this, I'm Ellowyn (She/Her). My WIP goes great when I do get to work on it, but I haven't been lately. Things are gonna look up though as I'm finally figuring out some solid plans!

I have mad respect for streamers. They put in so much of themselves for their craft. I will continue to support them and what they do! I'm not going away though. I'm going back to my passions. What gives me joy like streamers have. So my routine is blown up again but that's okay.

110

Ellowyn @ellowyncassia.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

No more streams for me. I wasn't doing it because I was passionate. I'd rather refocus on the things that actually make me happy. Like writing. I realized the time, energy, and effort streamers have to put in takes up a lot of my day and I was not feeling the joy others around me were feeling.
