Also yeah I did make a thread about a talk at the festival last week but i deleted it - I didn't want the festival getting any negative attention because it really was wonderful, & the opinions of one speaker definitely don't reflect on the amazing values of the event or the folk running it!

I had an absolutely fantastic time at Siglufjörður comics festival!! I'm currently very horizontal with a cold/fatigue but I'm so grateful I was able to go; I met some wonderful new folk and got to once again explore my favourite place on earth!!!

WORDDD it's such a bizarre attitude. And to think it's okay to pass this on to others??? (Also someone asked him for an example of a work where the creator "injected too much of themself" into it and he had to think for ages. He eventually said: the odyssey. The Nolan movie. Not a comic.)

It really was the advice of someone who was incredibly burnt out, like I don't keep a sketchbook bc I'm burnt out but I DONT SHARE THIS LIKE ITS CAREER ADVICE. He had alright (if basic) things to say about finding work and working with writers in the industry but like. Hmmghhh.
