OpenAI chief scientist’s post is giving Little Shop of Horrors. Labs have lost control of AI. 1. It’s alien and metastatic; 2. We’re fast losing alignment, monitoring; 3. But still have to progress AI for “defense” because no one is stopping; 4. Need internationally coordinated pacing to brake.

“There could be barriers to gaining information about [ai] inner workings, …or prove a poor outcome was caused by the AI system.” This is one reason developers and deployers don’t want xAI/transparency and why law should require it. As an input to accountability.
