It's 2 am Christmas morning. My mom just woke me up. She & dad are headed to my grandparents at dawn. My grandpa is dying. He's 96 yo. Hopefully his 6 living children will all be there before he passes. He's had a good long life and he's been a good man, but I'm still a crying insomniac.

Pulled out my journal yesterday for the first time since July 4th weekend. Not sure why, but I struggle with any sort of writing when 21yo is in the house. We talk about writer-stuff - she writes fiction too when she can - but I can't actually write romantic or sexy things when she's anywhere near.

#read Mother Daughter Traitor Spy by Susan Elia MacNeal. This 2022 "based on a true story" suspense about a mother-daughter duo spying on Nazis in 1940 is so very much on point that I had struggled with parts of it. Highly recommend for modern life applicability. #booksky #historicaldrama

You know I was reading my mom's library-borrowed and purchased sexually explicit books WAY before I understood the sexually explicit parts. But I did learn not to take shit from toxic men from that 80s smut. And that I wasn't fond of immature boys. Maybe that's what they don't want girls to learn?
