I've been using Finch for a while to gamify self care and keep track of things. They're doing a Trace My Roots challenge right now. Today I listened to Quarashi and was immediately brought back to 2005 and my first trip to the US. It's amazing how music can transport you back to a time in the past.

Við erum að láta reyna á áhuga fólks til að hittast og spjalla á milli hátíða. Það væri gaman að hitta furðusagna aðdáendur á fimmtudaginn. Ertu memm? Ég veit það vantar alt texta með upphaflega póstinum en aðalatriði myndanna er texti sem kemur fram í meginmáli póstsins.

Crossfit, croissant, it's all the same...

A classical oil-painting style portrait of two anthropomorphic otters in period clothing set in a domestic art studio, featuring Steve the standing painter otter at an easel and a second otter seated with a sketchbook.
Baked-in text (meme captions) reads exactly:
“I’m still tired from all the crossfit this morning.”
“It’s pronounced croissant and you ate 4 of them.”

I just finished listening to @elimccann.bsky.social 's book, Stitched, and absolutely love it. I'm not a quilter, but my 90 year old grandmother is, and I can't wait to tell her all about it. libro.fm/audiobooks/9...

The Archchancellor's most important job, as the Bursar saw it, was to sign things, preferably, from the Bursar's point of view, without reading them first. - Terry Pratchett, Moving Pictures

Finally ripped out the too short cuffs of the pullover I knit last year and am knitting them longer. I'm also using the opportunity to make them more snug by knitting them on smaller needles rather than by reducing the number of stitches. Luckily I had some of the original yarn left.

Sleeve cuffs being re-knit in a pink and a purple yarn. The original blue yarn of the cuffs has been wound into a ball that's sitting above the needles.

"Here," the witch said. She gave her girlfriend a small pearl. "I made it for you." "What is it?" "A small blessing. It can make a small change to you. Just think of what you want and swallow it." "Could it give me wings?" "That's too big." Her girlfriend swallowed the pearl, and began to purr.

Silent movies often featured chase scenes, which were often the most exciting/interesting scenes. So, ‘cut to the chase’ came to mean “get to the important part.”

Apparently Pratchett was a very angry man, and I suspect he did something like young Tiffany here.

I'm so glad I'm not looking to date anyone (married 22 years, been together 29) in the dating hellscape that's out there. Men not wiping or washing their butt, now it's not washing at all (are they at least going under the shower and rinsing off???). WTF is going on? All in the name of making...

Browsing Kickstarter can get expensive, fast. But how is one supposed to be able to resist Books and Chocolate?! Especially with flavors like Jólabókaflóðið (I'm Icelandic), Pride and Prejudice (I'm in a Jane Austen class), Watson, Gatsby, Frankenstein, Maltese Falcon (read for previous classes).

Ugh! I posted the Any Human Ever website earlier today thinking it was nifty only to have someone say it's "AI" slop. There was an option to take the next step and get an "AI" generated image, which I didn't do, but if the entire thing is slop rather than a basic random whatever generator, no thanks

If you aren't already aware of It's Storytime With Wil Wheaton I highly recommend it. I have discovered new (to me) authors via short stories and have then gone on to read / listen to longer works of theirs. Plus it's a nice opportunity to listen to @wilwheaton.net narrating / talking 😊

I guess I kind of promised a picture of the pullover. The sleeves are definitely long, but they're my type of long so I love them. I also reduced the number of stitches before doing the neckband because my head is not bigger even if my body is. Also, too bright! ravel.me/gleym-mer-ei... #knitsky

For the past 12 days I've been knitting my pullover. 5mm and then 4mm for the neckline and cuffs. I'm back to knitting socks on 2.5mm needles. My fingers aren't quite sure how to behave. #knitsky
