And now for something completely different. Or. Maybe not that different. It's a longer comic than usual. Which is different. Also TW for ommetaphobia.🧵1/2

I was 8, living on the other side of the country. My mom didn't wake me up to take me to school that morning. I woke up way later than usual and wandered into the living room to see her watching the news. She pulled me into a hug. I had no idea what any of it meant, only that she was scared.

This is what I mean when I say that its depressing doing art, writing fics, gposing, ect and getting crickets in response. "Do it because you like it" only goes so far when fandom is supposed to be nerds and creatives supporting each other.

This is actually a big part of my research: how we've turned art into "content" and artists into "content creators." It dehumanizes art, which makes it much easier to exploit artists. Big companies and even governments invest in this concept for a reason.

I seem to be getting used to drawing with my left hand already. 😩 I mean, it's still pretty scrungly, but not *gloriously* scrungly. I need more scrungle. Also my advisors are perfectly nice people. Advising just kind of sucks in general. #crappycomiks #comics #fuckai

Portraits of my cats. My best work yet. 🥰 No seriously for reals I actually love these drawings so much. Also don't worry I'll be back to my non-trolling art once I can find my Apple Pencil. It's evaporated out of existence, apparently. #art #comics #fuckai

This is directed at Meta, but my art has definitely been et by other social media AI, so why not post here too. I have no idea if this woulf even work, but I came up with the idea in the middle of the night and it was just too fun not to try.. #fuckai #antiai

PANEL 1 OF 3: a crude, wobbly drawing of a vaguely humanoid blob, with an equally wobbly speech bubble saying, "I don't want to feed Meta's AI but I still want to share stuff with my family."

PANEL 2 OF 3: another drawing of the humanoid blob, gesturing with a mitten-like hand, saying: "So I'm just gonna draw with my left hand."

PANEL 3 OF 3: the blob now poses with thick noodle hand/arms on hips, giving what could be a smile, saying: " Eat my shit, Meta."

Finished this redo of a painting I did back at the very beginning of my Emmrich fandom, when I was also at the very beginning of my journey deconstructing the shame around sex and sexuality I'd been conditioned to feel. Still working on that but I've come a long way! ♥️ #dragonage #datv #emmrook

Atash did not. She *really* wanted to with every fiber of her being, but deep down knew that further fragmenting the Wardens would not help and if there's still a chance they can ALL finally fight on the same side, she's going to take it.

I love me a good #sketchbooktour but I think there's a need for a dose of a more scribbly reality. Draw your bad drawings. Art isn't meant to be pretty all the time. It's meant to come from YOU. #fuckai #antiai #artist

Hey guys Guess what @thefadeserver.bsky.social has released another zine! And I'm in it! The zine theme is "What Comes After" and I knew what I had to do: UNREPENTANT FLUFF. "Lilac... It's such a pretty shade of purple. It brings thoughts of spring." #emmrichvolkarin #thefadediscordserver

Three figures sit under a tree. One is an older man wearing nice clothes leaning back on one hand, legs stretched out. He's smiling down at a young woman laid down with her head in his lap, his other hand cradling her face. She is visibly pregnant. She grins up at an animated skeleton wearing a big coat kneeling above her head, piling flowers around her. The skeleton and the man are wearing flower crowns, and the young woman's bump has a little circlet of flowers carefully arranged on top.

I've really enjoyed playing around with gender roles in romantic couples poses. Atash and Emmrich just fulfill that dynamic so perfectly and it's so fun to rewrite the story a little bit. Arbitrary gender roles are so so weird and frustrating to me, I wanna smash em. #dragonage #digitalart #emmrook
