i tried doing a painting where i get all the values down in black and white and THEN add colours and im regretting it so badly... i'm mostly a digital artist but even so i think i'm too traditional art brained for this, what do you MEAN i have to rely on adjustment layers for my colours???

Wanted to do more for #Mermay but I think this might have to be my big one for the month!!

4. color profiles matter. If you work in one color profile and send your file to a computer (or printer) using a different one, the end result may wildly differ. I usually print from Photoshop and have Photoshop manage color, but if you send files out, consider asking what color profile to use.

very good thread but also as someone who does not own a $2500 printer, if you're having someone else print your stuff for you, check their website (or get in touch directly) to check exactly what colour profile they work with. even better if you do it BEFORE starting a piece
