Completed the #BackToTheFuture #DeLorean build today! That was a blast, it's probably been over a decade since I did a #Lego set!

Doc and Marty stand next to the front of the completed DeLorean in BTTF2 hover car mode. Marty is holding the OUTTATIME license plate and Doc holds a wrench. Mr. Fusion is visible in the distance on the back of the car.

Completed DeLorean model viewed from the rear. The orange and metallic barcode license plate is now mounted. Marty looks on as Doc performs maintenance on the time machine. A Mr. Fusion is visible mounted to the machinery. The wheels are flat in hover mode.

View from the front of the DeLorean. Doc and Marty sit inside the cockpit as the car hovers. Where we're going we don't need roads.

My best friend got me the first #Lego set I've done in probably well over a decade, and he knows me well, it's the #BackToTheFuture #DeLorean one! Posting a short thread with build recap photos.

Rear of box showing DeLorean in BTTF2 hover car mode, inset of Doc at the driver's wheel with time date and plutonium chamber display, and "2 in 1" diagram showing this set can build both the BTTF1 and BTTF2 style DeLorean.

Doc and marty stand next to a partially-assembled car chassis.

[USPol, ICE, Action] @inthehands Thank you for the nudge to do this. I've felt like it's futile and am continually disappointed in the Democratic establishment but it's good to know that some of them are budging. This is what I wrote to my reps just now.

Subject: Enough is enough. Please help abolish ICE.

ICE is murdering innocent citizens in the streets. They claim these people are terrorists, but ICE is the one terrorizing our communities. They are dangerous and going off the rails and provide no useful services in any case. I have friends who are undocumented, and know lovely people too who clean houses. Countless more do hard labor like construction and farming. We should be giving them work visas, green cards, and a path to citizenship. Not putting them in concentration camps or deporting them.

Enough is enough. It's time to take a stand and abolish ICE. Defund them. It's not possible to reform. Abolish the whole DHS if you have to. If the airports are temporarily shut down, so be it. This madness must stop. Please do something. Go down in history as someone who stood up to this terrible administration. Thank you.

Plaque showing old photos of the gold coast car and the life magazine cover of Lucius Beebe. Plaque reads:

GEORGIA NORTHERN RAILWAY PRIVATE CAR NO. 100

The private car was the late nineteenth century's status symbol and a vehicle for the display of wealth, power, and prestige. "The Gold Coast" is styled after the elegant and opulent cars of that time.

The 100, like most private cars, changed ownership several times. It first appeared in official records in 1905 as a business car for the Central of Georgia Railway, and later saw service on three other southern railroads. Writers Lucius Beebe and Charles Clegg purchased the car in 1948 and christened it "The Gold Coast." With the help of a Hollywood interior decorator, they transformed the car to its present appear- ance. Aboard "The Gold Coast," based in the Virginia & Truckee's Carson City yards, Beebe and Clegg wrote several books and entertained friends. In 1954 they presented the car to the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society.

Built: Central of Georgia Railway(?), ca. 1895 d
Length: 82'
Weight: 156,000 lbs.
