Earlier this week, visiting PhD student Emma Little from Oregon State University gave a presentation to our lab group about cladoseqR. It's a new analytic method on how to incorporate the microbial phylogeny in #microbiome analysis. 🧬💻 We had a great discussion!

Last week, I returned from an incredible roadtrip in Queensland, Australia! 🌏🐨🦘 Saw so many unique animals and beautiful nature! It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! What a fantastic country and landscape 😍 Attached a few pics, (blurry because screenshots from videos).

I've sometimes wondered if there are additional reasons why bacteria thrive inside mammal guts, and this is a fascinating answer to that question. 👀
