📢 First paper from my PhD dissertation now out in JEPOP! Parties don’t just campaign on policies. They also try to convince voters they’re competent, trustworthy and capable of governing. But do valence appeals actually relate to polling gains during election campaigns? 📄 doi.org/10.1080/1745...

Does anyone have colleagues/friends who recently passed through Canadian work permit application process as postdocs? I'd be very happy to connect and discuss the process. Thanks!

It is a false distinction to see the atrocious attack in Berlin as something unique or exceptional. It is wrong to claim that it is an "attack on our free societies". It is a continuation of the practices of these societies. Only if we overcome these practices can we actually be safe.

#CSDBerlin

Wählerwanderung: AfD holt die meisten Nichtwähler ab

Why does 25% AfD among young men spark a thousand "what is going on with young men?" posts yet Die Linke 34% among young women generates...nothing at all? Yes, young men voting for the radical right is an important phenomenon. But so is young women going rad left *at even higher rates*.
