Coyote vs. Acme What. A. Movie. It's a scathing look at how corporations manage to get away with anything, it's absurd in a way that only the Looney Tunes can pull off, it hits all the right emotions. If you told me I was gonna cry at a cartoon bird saying "beep beep", I wouldn't have believed you.

X-Men (2000) I knew going into this that it was gonna be a bit cheesy compared to later superhero films, but it kinda works for this movie. I'm not a huge fan of how the women in this movie were written. That being said, the relationship between Charles and Erik was perfect right from the start.

Thunderbolts* I did not expect to like this movie as much as I did. It's a movie about depression, despair, grief, loss, and ultimately overcoming those emotions to become the best person you can. The characters all have really fun chemistry and make this B-Team take on the Avengers really work.

X-Men '97 Season 2 While I think I prefer the first season, this was yet another W from Marvel Animation. This season touches on the classic X-Men themes like discrimination and found family, but also touches on things like what it means to fulfill one's destiny. Looking forward to more.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Season 1) Damn, what an excellent show. I'm kicking myself for not watching it sooner. This show is full of wit and charm, the characters are all brilliantly written, the performances are all outstanding. This season has a satisfying end but I can't wait to see more.

Practical Magic It's a fun movie, but it kinda feels like parts of it were either rushed or left on the cutting room floor. It's definitely a movie of its time. I do like how casual some of the magic feels compared to the big, nature-defying spell that really kicks off the plot.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day I love it when a superhero movie actually has something to say about the human condition. Peter has to deal with loneliness, burnout, and government conspiracies all at once, which is super relatable. This is the MCU at its best, it's on the same level as Gunn's Superman.

Denshattack! What a video game. One part Tony Hawk, one part Jet Set Radio, and one part Boost-Era Sonic. Add a little bit of anti-corporate and anti-AI sentiment, and you get what may just be the Game of the Year. I plan on playing this one again.

Wolfwalkers This is now one of my favorite movies, period. The style is unlike anything else out of Hollywood, the animation is absolutely gorgeous, and it's got a heartwarming story about love, acceptance, and becoming your true self. Highly recommend.

Spirited Away I absolutely adore this movie. It's emotionally moving and very silly all at once. The dub was great, with Daveigh Chase and Susan Egan as the highlights. It's extremely well animated, of course, with a lot of fun characters to boot.

Rhythm Heaven Groove I love silly little games that are meant to be fun more than anything else, and this game is absolutely that. Some of the levels are a bit frustrating but I at least managed to get medals on all of them. For me, it was a good entry point into the series.

PowerWash Simulator 2 This one is a worthy sequel to the original. The soap mechanics got a very needed update. The only real complaint I have is that the levels were very much designed for multiplayer, so doing them solo took way longer than they needed to.

Supergirl (2026) I really enjoyed it! I wouldn't say it's an instant classic like Superman was but it's very fun. On one level it's a planet-hopping space adventure, and on another it's about two young women taking down a galaxy-wide sex trafficking scheme. Milly Alcock was a great cast for Kara.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book This is a very cute game, but definitely one meant for small children. It's mostly just looking for fun interactions between different creatures. The biggest challenge is just figuring out what interaction triggers each level's end.

Deltarune Chapter 5 Toby Fox does it again. Every single chapter, he finds some way to subvert the genre and medium, and this one is no exception. Lots of fun new characters, and an ending that had me on the edge of my seat. Plus that final boss theme has been stuck in my head for days.

Princess Mononoke This so far is my favorite Ghibli movie. It's your standard Miyazaki themes: war bad, nature good, but shown in such a way that you really feel how much the world is suffering. I find Lady Eboshi particularly fascinating as a character. Absolute must-watch.

Barbie & The Diamond Castle This one was a lot of fun. The plot was pretty standard, there were some bits that didn't quite make sense or felt rushed, but there are worse movies you could watch. I did nearly die laughing when the dogs start dancing like people.

Bratz: Fashion Pixiez This whole movie felt like they were trying to be the dark, edgy counterpart to Barbie, but failed spectacularly. To quote Dan Olsen: "Cringe. There's no other word for it. This makes me cringe. It's embarrassing." Also these filmmakers need to apologize to the Irish (iykyk).

TADC Episode 9: Remember The long-awaited finale did not disappoint. It feels like the only real way this story could have ended. Caine's self-reflection and journey to make amends with what he's done contrasts so well with Jax's unwillingness to change. I'm sad it's over, but man, what a show.

Backrooms (2026) This is my kind of horror: mostly psychological, with a bit of action here and there. It works as a standalone film but I'm sure I liked it more having followed the YouTube series. The ending is a bit abrupt, but not in a bad way. I hope this is just the beginning for Kane Parsons.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight This is the idealized version of the new LEGO game formula started in The Skywalker Saga. One big open map, lots to explore. Adapting parts from each Batman film into one story was well done. There were a few bugs here and there but overall it ran fairly well.

Whisper of the Heart Ghibli really excels with these slice-of-life movies. I also can't be mad at a movie that has John Denver music in it. Shizuku's whole deal is extremely relatable to any artist who's ever been less than confident in themselves. We watched the dub, which was very well done.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu This is, plainly and simply, a fun action flick. Honestly felt like an extended episode of the show, which is about what I expected. In that area, it succeeded. Anybody who expected it to be on the same level as Andor is kidding themselves.

Over the Hedge (DS) I can't say this game isn't ambitious, being a 3D collectathon for the DS. It almost felt like the older LEGO games at times, but fell flat with the controls and puzzle design. Could definitely have been worse.

The Daring Game for Girls (DS) This is now the first game that comes to mind for me when I hear the word "shovelware". It's a tie-in game for a book that was a spin-off of a different book, and it felt like these devs just did not give a shit. It's grindy and tedious, and overall just sucks.

Legally Blonde This one was pure fun, Your Honor. You can tell this movie came out in the '00s, and I mean that in the best way possible. Elle being somehow the least qualified person in the room and yet the only one who can solve the final case is great, no notes. I'd happily rewatch this one.

The Devil Wears Prada Yeah, this one deserves its status as one of the classics. It's the story of an average person trying to get by in a system designed to benefit one person, and her realization that she doesn't need to ruin her personal life for her job. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The survivorship bias plane diagram. Red dots indicate where a plane has been shot at, and thus where one would think to add more armor despite the plane having returned to base. The ones that were fully shot down had taken damage in the blank areas, thus more armor should actually be added there to reduce casualties.

Porco Rosso I don't think I'd say this is my favorite Ghibli movie, but there's still a lot to love. The animation is, as always, gorgeous. Some characters could have been fleshed out more, but the performances in the Disney dub were great all around. Fun watch, but not one I'd return to often.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Finally, a town builder game that truly has infinite replayability. It is, if not the greatest game Nintendo has ever put out, certainly the funniest. The sheer amount of customization available without any censors at all is simply astounding.

Project Hail Mary I love a good story about coming together for a common cause, and this is very much that. A lot of it is Ryan Gosling talking to a rock and yet it just works. The story is great, the visuals are stunning, and Grace and Rocky are such a good pair. It's a must-watch, for sure.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie This movie is like cotton candy: sweet and sugary, but with no substance. The pacing is all over the place, the story's a mess, and the dialogue felt a bit forced. But the visuals, soundtrack, and animation made me feel like a kid in a candy store. Most 6/10 movie ever.
