The first time Wolverine encountered Magneto was such a mind F. He was the coolest, toughest, most bad-assed of the X-Men; turned into a joke without any effort at all. That your greatest strength is often your greatest weakness has always stayed with me. So blessed to grow up with those comics.

One of the darkest beliefs I have is that this is the primary purpose for all conflicts like this. The result is the goal. Power is it's imperative. Better for them to kill off people than redistribute.
But for some reason people have largely managed to ignore the fact that all of these Crusades were absolute miserable flops that didn’t manage to do a whole lot more than get a bunch of random people killed.

No, technically, bugs are not considered "meat". Meat typically refers to the flesh of mammals, birds, fish, or other animals. Insects, while edible and nutritious, are classified as arthropods, a different animal group.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Definition of Meat:
Meat is generally defined as the edible flesh of animals, specifically mammals, birds, fish, and shellfish.
Insects as a Food Source:
While insects are a common food source in many cultures and are a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, they are not categorized as "meat" in the same way as traditional animal products

"...economists learn to never ask the stupid questions, which are, of course, almost always the most important questions to ask.” - The Trading Game: A Confession - @garyseconomics.bsky.social I'm remembering this: Stupid questions are almost always the most important questions to ask.
“Economics nowadays is a subject in which students never really quite understand what they are being taught, because the people teaching them, who are of course former economics students, never quite understood it themselves. Occasionally, experiencing a rare moment of lucidity, a student will be simultaneously intelligent enough to realize their own lack of understanding, and brave enough to ask a professor about it. This will incite a brief twinge of psychological torment in the professor, who will have spent many years trying to suppress his own knowledge that he does not really understand his subject, and will also remind him of the bitter fact that his father has never been proud of him. In order to shut these escaped feelings back up in their safely locked vault of repression, the professor will either shame or bore his interlocutor into submission (which is what intellectually insecure people usually do when questioned). By this process, economists learn to never ask the stupid questions, which are, of course, almost always the most important questions to ask.”

Happy New Year!
Auld Lang Syne

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

Chorus
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely you'll buy your pint cup!
and surely I'll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Chorus

We two have run about the hills,
and picked the daisies fine;
But we've wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

Chorus

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

Chorus

And there's a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o' thine!
And we'll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

Chorus

-- Robert Burns
