I got a really sweet comment on Bets Bluffs and Boxcars (my hualian fic) the other day where this lovely person was writing a uni report related to Macau and it made them think of the story! As a writer, it’s so cool to hear about things that randomly remind someone about an aspect of your fic

everything has a silver lining I guess. Dad was in the hospital this past weekend but he is home and resting now. All the hospital staff were really nice when we were there. I had a pretty brutal call shift yesterday but my med student wrote me a really kind card and nursing were so supportive too.

I watched a video once where a very insightful lady shared that the reason why she thinks older women in Asian households get so up in arms over whether you (a younger feminine appearing person) has a bf/husband yet is that they are desperate to justify their own decisions in life.

I commissioned a skeb-style “sketch” from @chapter56.bsky.social for the blog. I threw out a bunch of potential prompts with no idea what they would choose, and got surprised last night by this gorgeous illustration. I love artists depicting other artists at work. #tgcf #huacheng #xielian

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I really really dislike grounding breathing exercises (counting the seconds of inhale/exhale, box breathing, etc). Maybe it works for some people but it drives me nuts if a therapist tries to tout it as the be all panacea of mindfulness. For some people,

Hua Cheng’s strong yet gracefully dextrous fingers, with black nails that gleam wickedly, tracing with deftness, as though drawing demonic talismans, encircling and flicking at Xie Lian’s dusky areolas, perked and speckled with gooseflesh, quivering where they sit on ripe fleshy pecs.

as an aside, I love when BL actually shows the super muscular characters exercising/going to the gym. It’s not just that having defined abs and biceps for no reason isn’t realistic, it’s that showing the character being so persistent at something that requires dedication is so hot.

maybe you already know this but I just realized while putting them together that the bottoms of the #oubing hand holding figures make their yin yang symbol and slot together perfectly while they join hands

Top down view of oubing hand holding figures showing that the bottom of each figure makes half of a yin yang symbol that can then slot together.

I love how you can see both ultra modern and really traditional things in China

Night scape of the city with lots of skyscrapers and a reflection over large pool

Three tiered pagoda pavilion with dangling red lanterns hanging from eaves on a raised platform

Many hanging yellow Chinese cylindrical lanterns strung in rows across a street between buildings

I’m pretty sure this is a traditional thing, but every time I’m staying with relatives in China, I’m reminded of how hard the beds are. It literally feels like I’m sleeping on a thin quilt over a solid wood plank.

Not xi huai inadvertently threatening to fuck chi muyao to death 😂 #demonvenerables #魔尊他念念不忘

"Because of the scene just now, your water element furnace is about to disappear, so you want to butter me up? You wouldn't even explain things to me if not to keep at least one of us around, right?"
"I never wanted any furnace. In fact, I don't even need you!"
"Don't you dare not need me, Ill...
Xi Huai stewed in silence for a long time. Finally, he could only say,
"stab
you to death".
This 'stab' inexplicably made Chi Muyao's waist and knees hurt.

Please please read the demon venerable’s wistful desire!! Rebel recced it to me and I’m hooked! It’s got a demonic sect young master chasing very desperately for the escape artist mc who used him as a cultivation furnace (consensually) before disappearing into hiding 🤭🤭 And it’s super funny!!

Song Weiyue squatted next to Xi Huai and asked impatiently, "Is he here or not this time, ah? Can't you focus for once?"
Xi Huai was frustrated too. "If I keep staring at any one person, A-Jiu will probably be unhappy when he finds out."
Song Weiyue didn't know what to say to that. "It's been two years. He didn't even care if you lived or died, so do you really think he cares if you glance at someone twice? I don't know whether it's A-Jiu who thinks too little of you or you think too much of yourself."

After making sure the injury was taken care of, Chi Muyao took one last look at Xi Huai and suddenly flushed.
He...He had tugged his shirt...
Chi Muyao swallowed dryly at the sight of Xi Huai's well-defined pecs and chest. He couldn't help but take a long, long look at them.
Nice.

Zhi Shan Heavenly Venerable con-curred. "You have mediocre qualifications but are very smart. Your luck isn't too bad either. But I don't quite understand this game of hide-and-seek between you and the Qing Ze Sect's Young Sect Master."
Chi Muyao was a little embarrassed, but he explained, "I don't want to be with him..."
"Why not? He's such a good furnace and he's head over heels for you.
Why not use him?"
"He's a good furnace, yes, but...he might be too much for me. He's a weight I can't accept in this lifetime." Yet instead of empathising with him, Zhi Shan Heavenly Venerable just went,
, "Wow."
