Last: I'm still a poster guy. And I like that this obvious crossover for a tour called "The Gathering" exists. But I can't fathom putting it on my wall or in my flat file, especially for $40.

Had a good time at Weezer's The Gathering tour last night. Capsule review thread from someone who doesn't really go to live music much:

I visited the new home of the piece of the Berlin Wall behind the Orlando CityWalk Hard Rock Cafe (which is now actually in front of the Orlando CityWalk Hard Rock Cafe). The location is also a designated stroller parking zone.

Turns out Fortnite is deeply weird and kind of fun, especially playing it with my kid. I threw a few bucks at the Krusty skin, what a time to be alive. I find the general UI and unlock system completely inscrutable though, making me an Old for sure (The monorail song also plays on my menu screen)

Well, it's permanent. I'm grateful they got back to me! But pilgrimages will be different from now on.
email from the hard rock general manager: "this is permanent given how much that thing weighs! I think it needed to be front and center!"

I'm sorry to post screenshots from the other place, but this is Important News: Hard Rock Orlando moved my favorite piece of the Berlin Wall from behind the restaurant to out in the front. To be honest this is weirdly disappointing to me. I liked that the old placement was inexplicable.

Youtube Music's quarterly Recap now suggests I ask AI about what I listened to. Are there people who think this is a good use of resources?

The Fitbit One was a perfect pedometer design, and I can't find a modern equivalent. I just want a simple, non-connected step counter that clips to my pocket without getting in the way. Doesn't exist.

I've been trying to make good-faith efforts to use AI in my work. Today outlook suggested asking Copilot to find priority tasks for me. I clicked that suggestion, and Copilot immediately told me it can't do that. (🧵)
I asked copilot: "Look through all my emails, chats and meetings and let me know what are the top 3 things I need to get done in the future."
Response:
"I get why you’d want that—that’s exactly the kind of thing a good assistant should do.
However, I need to be clear about a limitation first
I don’t have access to your emails, chats, calendar, or meetings unless you explicitly share that information with me.
I can’t see Outlook, Teams, Slack, Zoom, or other systems on my own.
That said, we can still get you to a very useful "top 3" quickly. Here are the practical ways forward, from most to least powerful:"

I have some minor theme park news to break: #EpicUniverse added a goat on the roof of Pretorius' Scientific Oddities in #Darkmoor / #DarkUniverse. On 1/20, my daughter spotted roof goat & I took a picture. Later, we wondered just what that goat was doing up there. (🧵)

The new movie was a bit of a dud, but it reminded me how much I truly like the Avatar franchise. I finally jumped into the Frontiers of Pandora game, and it's incredible. I get to fly an Ikran all around this world, exploring and doing cool stuff. You can't take a bad screenshot.

When I was a little kid, I listened the crap out of a cassette of vaguely Halloween-themed pop music. I looked it up recently - it was Hallmark's "The Sounds of Halloween": Thriller, Ghostbusters, Monster Mash, and more. This year I learned just how wrong my little kid memories of it were. 🧵

Bring back Michael Eisner.
A tweet from Michael Eisner: Where has all the leadership gone? If not for university presidents, law firm managing partners, and corporate chief executives standing up against bullies, who then will step up for the first amendment? The "suspending indefinitely" of Jimmy Kimmel immediately after the Chairman of the FCC's aggressive yet hollow threatening of the Disney Company is yet another example of out-of- control intimidation. Maybe the Constitution should have said, "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, except in one's political or financial self-interest." By-the- way, for the record, this ex-CEO finds Jimmy Kimmel very talented and funny.
